WHAT WERE THE FIRST WORDS JESUS PREACHED?

 JESUS MOVES TO GALILEE

ENTERING CAPERNAUM

"Now when Jesus heard that John was put in prison, He left for Galilee.  And leaving Nazareth, He came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali,  that what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying:

“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
the way to the sea, beyond the Jordan,
    Galilee of the Gentiles:
The people who sat in darkness
    saw great light.
And on those who sat in the land of the shadow of death,
light has dawned.” From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Matthew 4:12-17  MEV  (Modern English Version)

After hearing John the Baptist's imprisonment, Jesus settled in Capernaum near the shores of the Sea of Gailee.

Jesus was "The Light of the World" to the people of Galilee, and the regions given to two of the twelve tribes of Israel--Zebulun & Naphtali.

The "Way of the Sea" was an ancient trade route known as the "Via Marus;" from Egypt to Turkey.  And there was a connector road to Galilee.
